Eleventeen Ceramics - Tāmaki Makaurau

When Liquid Lightning approached me with the initial concept of creating a hand-held vessel I began to think about how intelligent our senses are and how delicately we respond to touch and taste. My goal was to formulate ideas to enhance an experience but I also wanted to destabilize the preconceived idea of what a mug should be and how it should appear.

We asked Denise to explore what Liquid Lightning would feel like in a ritualistic vessel...

I had in my mind a framework - Arrive, Prepare, Consume, Experience & Radiate with which to grow a body of work from.

Liquid Lightning have created these incredible products & when you subscribe to this standard of wellness you are committing to a societal journey where your body and health are central.

The benefits of handmade and how that weaves in with holistic health...

By creating a ritual of holistic health you are preparing and programming your body and all that it encompasses for its journey at that given moment - a moment that speaks of time and care.

My ceramic vessels are gentle organic forms each presenting unique sculptural characteristics. They are cloaked in Liquid Lightning’s iconic Lavender & purposefully built to transport nutrient rich broth radiating warmth and wellness.

Eleventeen Ceramics is a gathering
of ideas and imagination.

Through sculpture, ceramics explore the relevance and beauty of everyday objects.

Every piece is a celebration of handmade uniqueness, the intention is to encourage conversation and to transform an occupied space.
